Kaikan Phrase is a series that's in a weird spot. Despite the fact that Viz Media licensed and released all eighteen volumes of the manga, the anime didn't really seem to catch on anywhere. It saw a limited VHS release in Japan, a Chinese bootleg Video CD release, and that's about it. The first half of the show was fansubbed on VHS by Itsuka Anime, a group that didn't do much else, and the second half was subbed by some random guy putting subs on the horrible bootleg Video CDs, with awful audio and Chinese subtitles burned in. To add on to this, the only English copies of the first 24 episodes that found their way onto the internet were various 240p (or sometimes even 232p) rips of Itsuka's tapes, from poor quality tapes that came from already bad master copies. All of them are very badly encoded, some of them have bass boosted audio (see episode 21), some of them are missing entire parts of dialogue due to a faulty master tape (in episode 3 for example, they forgot to include subtitles for the entire prologue in favor of crediting their staff), and there are even more other random issues not listed here. Not only that, episodes 17 and 18 didn't even get this treatment, and instead got a 384p digisub by Ishin-Digital using the 240p bootleg Video CDs as raws, with all the songs in the music-focused show untranslated, audio sounding like it came from a tin can hooked up to a television set, and probably a worse translation than Itsuka Anime (although I highly doubt either is particularly good.) This upload looks to remedy at least some of this train-wreck of releases. These are new 480p digitizations of the 24 episodes Itsuka Anime did off of better copies of their tapes, with improved video, audio, and subtitles. While some tapes do still suffer from some unfortunate video and audio drops, and some episodes are still missing random subtitles, I believe these should almost completely obsolete the old low quality releases that have been shared around the internet for the last 20+ years. I am looking for episodes 47-70 of Cardcaptor Sakura fansubbed (released before Anime-Galaxy's R1 encodes) in any capacity. I have the first 46 episodes and Movie 1 on first-gen off master tapes as well as the JACOSub scripts used to produce those tapes, and have Movie 2 digitally fansubbed, but am missing the entirety of "season 3" outside of a Hong Kong bootleg DVD set that stole fansubs from an unknown source but royally fucked up the timing and added a bunch of typos. If you happen to have anything, please reach out, as I am looking to make use of them. ![](https://i.imgur.com/9UurU7v.png) ![](https://i.imgur.com/4LMSadU.png) ![](https://i.imgur.com/ASeco8P.png) ![](https://i.imgur.com/ngqDhML.png) ![](https://i.imgur.com/QKpeS2r.png)
