Funimation Remastered Box Sets The Funimation "remastered" Box Sets are a series of DVD box sets released by Funimation. For Dragon Ball Z, they feature an anamorphic widescreen (16:9) transfer from original Japanese film print, a revised English audio track, original English and Japanese audio tracks, plus many other special features. Similar sets have also been released for Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball GT. While the Z sets are cropped to achieve an anamorphic widescreen presentation, the original Dragon Ball and GT sets are presented in the original 4:3 aspect ratio. The sets do not include the next episode previews due to Toei not having supplied them to Funimation (they were recreated for TV broadcast and previous home video releases), although the narrator still erroneously provides the "stay tuned for scenes from the next episode" message. '' The sets do not include the next episode previews due to Toei not having supplied them to Funimation (they were recreated for TV broadcast and previous home video releases), although the narrator still erroneously provides the “stay tuned for scenes from the next episode” message.'' That's not the reason why they don't include Previews. They have all the Japanese previews on the Dragon Boxes, and the have all English previews that were aired on Cartoon Network and they still must have the previews.
FUNimation dubbed the DBZ NEPs (Cartoon Network / DVD Singles) and DBGT NEPs (Cartoon Network / Nicktoons / DVD Singles), just not the DB NEPs. It's as if they've decided to trash the dubbed NEPs because they think "no one would be interested" or so. Despite that the DBZ 30th Anniversary release is more or less the Season Sets in 4:3 AR they could've made the effort to include it, but no.
I am honestly surprised that people want to download this. I mean the only reason i can think of that's logical is for the Faulconer audio, but the DVD Singles are already available and have them at a higher bitrate. Orange Bricks are 192kbps and Singles at 256kbps. Plus the audio mixing is superior on the Singles by far, unlike the dull mixing on the Orange Bricks and Season Blu-Rays. I mean you could say for the sake of preserving it, but everyone has the Orange Bricks, it's been selling like hotcakes for the past 12 years it has been out, so it won't go away anytime soon. I mean i guess you can download this for the Uncut Dub audio with Nathan Johnson, but i wouldn't think 10 people would want this immediately. Maybe it's to check out the extras or something, the menu music, no idea really.
FUNimation DID receive NEPs from Toei. However, there is no Japanese audio on those NEPs, so they decided to scrap them for all future releases instead. My guess is that they did not include the NEPs on the GT Green Bricks for consistency. So, this is more of a fault of Toei's incompetence.
The GT Singles are pretty much the US Dragon Box GT, but instead of being in desirable DVD9 discs they're compressed to DVD5 discs. I'd still give it a 8.5/10 for the GT Singles.
Awesome . Keep Seeding as long / much as possible since the downloading is very slow . Thank You Very Much .
The first official complete version I have for watching DBZ. Even if it isn't perfect.
^ That's an understatement. ?

I just found out from iKaos that there is a program called Dragon Radar. This program will take English audio and subtitles from most Funimation DVD releases and mux it with the video for the R2 NTSC-J Dragon Boxes (all 4 of them). The real feature of this program is that English audio and subtitles will automatically be in sync with the Dragon Box video, and will be in a muxed mkv container. This program has not yet been programmed to sync the English audio and subtitles from any Funimation Blu-rays. Only from the DVD’s. And the Blu-rays may never work with this program since the programmer doesn’t have any of the Blu-rays and hasn’t updated the program in a year and a half. The point that I am trying to make (and that has come to my attention because of iKaos’s reply to my questions) is that the Orange Brick is the only source for the newer 2008 recording of the English dub that works with the Dragon Radar Program. Although the Funimation Dragon Box Z has one of the English tracks which has Japanese Background Music. I will be downloading this Orange Brick set as soon as I finish downloading the DBZ 30th Ann. BDMV. This Orange Brick set will save an increadible amount of time syncing the audio using the Dragon Radar program. And according to iKaos there are only minor differences in this Orange Brick DVD quality audio compared to the Blu-ray Season sets, even though the Blu-ray is in TrueHD. I personally would appreciate the better audio quality on the Blu-ray, but in the mean time the Dragon Radar program will allow me to be able to watch the R2 NTSC-J Dragon Boxes immediately, and without all the synchronizing work, and using the original sources I already have. And this Orange Brick set will be needed to make that happen. @DRX, it may be good to put a quick note in the information at the top of this page to let people know about the compatibility of this Orange Brick set with the Dragon Radar Program.
